Vice Minister Chen Xiaohua met with Ms. Marilou Cayco, Governor of the Province of Batanes of the Philippines, in Beijing on 4 July 2017.
Vice Minister Chen spoke highly of the achievements of China-Philippines agricultural and fisheries cooperation in recent years. He noted that MOA attaches great importance to cooperation with the Philippines, hoping that the two sides could enhance cooperation in personnel exchanges, scientific and technological exchanges and agricultural trade. He suggested that the Province of Batanes cooperate with Shandong Province of China in aquatic products processing, vegetable production, and melon and fruits production.
Ms. Marilou Cayco fully agreed with Vice Minister Chen and highlighted her expectations for greater progress in the bilateral agricultural cooperation. After the meeting, the Philippine delegation visited some key labs and production bases of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences.
